Above the Waves - SUR116

We've stayed at this location many times over the years. The location is perfect with a top floor view of the ocean, waves, and beach. Access to the beach is very easy with showers at the top of the stairs. The furniture and appliances and blinds are a bit dated. The afternoon sun really heats the place up with no AC. Compared to the other properties nearby overall we enjoy this one the most which is why we keep coming back.

We love this unit and have come to the same unit for many years but it is very “tired.” The dining room chairs are so low and uncomfortable that someone provided a few outdoor cushions to use. And the paper holder for the master bath had fallen off and no one replaced it for the next guests,

I have written several emails to Stubbs regarding this property, so I surprised to be receiving this request.
We had a wonderful stay there. However, the unit could be wonderful if it were given a little attention. Master bedroom door did not open. Pantry door was broken and could not be open and closed. Two important electrical outlets did not have power. Most living and dining room chairs are pretty saggy and not very comfortable (not the sofa).Overall, we didn't care because we had a great time. View and location are spectacular.

The property description was accurate. Stubbs provided excellent cleaning and management. Some pictures are not updated. 2nd bedroom now has a queen bed but picture and description shows a smaller double bed. A great property in general with some owner upgrades needed so this can be a level up on the Stubbs rating system. Vertical blinds throughout are in disrepair and give little privacy in the bedrooms. The blinds fall to the floor constantly & have scotch tape holding them up. We hung towels where some were missing, as the neighbors can look into bedroom. The grill needs to be replaced or replace the unusable rusted grate. We bought a replacement grate for our use. We bought new pillows for our use, they were stained. We also bought 2 frying pans as they were in rough shape. All the screens in the unit need to be replaced. Buying the few items we needed for our 22 days made our stay really nice. The location, bathrooms,parking garage,appliances,ocean view, beach access and condo gardens are really nice. They had 4 floor fans which gave a nice breeze.

A beautiful condo with a fantastic view of the ocean. We had a very relaxing time and enjoyed listening to the ocean waves. This is a nice location, easy access to San Diego and the North Coast.

This was our second year staying a week Above the Waves. This time the grandkids came for a few days and a trip to Legoland. It was during one of the unusual hot spells which was great for the beach but a bit warm inside the unit since no A/C. Many more pros than cons. PROS: Stubbs service was fantastic, view incredible, kid friendly beach just a few stairs away, market and restaurants within walking distance, gated garage, plenty of running and riding trails, beach chairs, boogey boards, umbrellas, towels provided, and more. CONS: unit a bit dated, fridge door full of grease/rust, unit is warm with afternoon sun. Pros far out weigh the cons.We will be back.

We rented this unit before and while we found out there are new owners, the unit is pretty much the same.

It’s a great location, amazing view, beds comfortable and unit pretty clean.

If someone would just spend a little time to purchase some basic (new) kitchen items, spend a little on seating, especially patio it would go a long ways

Very nice. he owner of the unit needs to add a few things to the kitchen, some of the kitchen items are a bit beat up, felt greasy, not much of any supp;ies needed on hand like we have seen in most other top units in the area. Some of the window blinds need repair. The kitchen sink clogs very easy, perhaps nothing can be done about that. Overall,...a nice unit and reasonably clean.

We really like this unit, having two bedrooms is nice. It's quiet and comfortable. There are two issues that really should be addressed. One, the dining room table chairs are really worn out, we could not sit in them, we ate at the counter. Two, the window blinds are really dated, falling apart and not very effective. Otherwise, it's a good rental, we will return.

We return to this area year after year and love we Seascape Sur and all its amenities. The small pool is perfect for little ones learning to swim and the stairs to the beach are very well built and easy to navigate.

Enjoyed the ocean breeze, the sounds of the waves, and watching the surfers. Easy access to the beach, beautiful landscaping, pool and hot tub were great. The condo was nicely decorated, comfortable, clean and spacious.

My family has rented this unit for 30 years and we will return next year. It is stunning and well appointed. Sadly, the cleaning service did not meet the high standards we had come to expect. I vacuumed an enormous a mount of sand from the living room area and from the runner in the kitchen . Bathroom rugs had not washed.

Location is great, ocean view amazing. The inside is in need of upgrades. Many items are worn and rusted - include washer/dryer and fridge. Front door looks so uninviting that we didn't think it was an actual entrance. The balcony is fabulous, and thats really what you're paying for. NOTE: if you are a non-smoker and do lot like smoke coming into your property this may not be the place for you. We were advised that by Stubbs Mgmt that the entire property was non-smoking but the SS Sur Mgmt said that residents can smoke outside...and it just blows right with the ocean breeze...HUGE disappointment!!!

Wonderful location with unobstraucte view of the Pacific and fabulous sunsets. Grounds of the complex are beautiful with tennis courts and pools to use. Second bedroom has only a double bed, so not the best for sleeping arrangements but roll-away is provided.

We had some issues (termite droppings on our head in bed, broken dishwasher, inadequate silverware, too small TV). But we have rented through Stubbs for more than 20 years and always are delighted with their consideration, knowledge, and concern. We expect to continue into the distant future too.
