Beachy Keen & Clean - DMBC148S

We really enjoyed our time in the Solana Beach rental. It was great to walk out the door and down some steps to be on the beach. The place was in a great location. There was a heated pool , hot tub and tennis and pickleball courts which we enjoyed using.
Stubbs is a very pleasant and professional real estate company, and I would definitely rent from them again

Stubbs Real Estate and Vacation Rentals staff

This two bedroom two bath condo was perfect for our family of four. Although the condo itself is not right on the beach, it is an easy walk without crossing any streets. There are quite a few steps to get down (and therefore up!) but that is pretty common all along the coast. I loved that we could borrow beach "stuff" (umbrella, cooler, chairs, boogie boards!). The condo did have some things, but what they didn't have, Stubbs let us borrow from a whole equipment shed of options. While we did not really walk to restaurants, I suppose you could, or it was a very easy short drive. Highly recommend!

We stayed here 7 nights over Xmas. The place had everything we needed as a family of 2 adults and 2 teens. Condo complex HOA was closed for the holidays so we couldn't access tennis or gym, but pool and hot tub were great. Quiet and safe location. We would stay here again.

Very clean and great location. Great for a young family. Would recommend updating shower heads, faucets, and mattresses (or adding a mattress pad).

Great location. Property is a little dated but was clean when we checked in. Management company was extremely responsive and made sure all of our needs were met. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a good experience.

Management team was efficient and easily reached. The condo itself is in need of some updates. It had the bare minimum’s which is fine but the beds were very hard and the blinds did not work at all in the small bedroom and barely in the master. They need to be replaced if anyone wants any privacy there as the bedrooms are right on the road. The ceiling fan was loose but management service disconnected stand up fans were covered in dust and they replaced with 2 cleaner ones. Pots and pans were scratched. Fireplace listed as not working and it didnt but would have been nice. Says there is a balcony off the master but there isnt. The location is fabulous and this price was much less than others in the area so we were happy with that.

The location is perfect, overall the unit is spacy and comfortable, need some upgrade though (bathrooms, blinds, locks). Our main problem was the construction noise within the complex. Starting 8 am every morning except Sunday

Perfect location that felt like you had a private beach! Loved the community lounge/deck to take in sunsets. Only negative is how uncomfortable the beds were. They sorely need new mattresses or at least a mattress topper to save people waking up in pain. We ended up putting down extra blankets/sheets after our first nights sleep to better support us.

This was a great property and great location. Our Family had a great time in San Diego. We were a short walk away from the beach and the pool. We had a washer and dryer and kitchen to keep our costs down. The only thing I would suggest is to clean the carpet. It was rather dirty, but other than that, a great spot to call home for a week.

Our particular place, which we have stayed in before, was not somewhere I would want to stay again. I filled out the sheet and turned it into Dave Stubbs already, but some of the things I remember are: Many things seem to be broken or falling apart and need attention for example: The shower doors are hard to open and close as are the drawers in the kitchen. The screen slider on the balcony door was ripped and broken, every time we tried to open it it fell off the hinges and we had to put it back on. We needed a fan in every room because it was very very hot and we only had 3 fans and had to keep moving them to the rooms we were in. When we arrived the place was not very clean, you could see lots of guck in the corners on the floors, etc. It seems to need a big overall cleaning. I realize it was one of the less expensive properties in DMBC, but I expect things to be clean and working. Also, our entire family who rents out 6 condos each year some for more than 1 week is actively seeking somewhere else to go from now on. We love the location of DMBC and the privacy of the beach but the permanent residents who live their and complain about everything are ruining our vacation. We spend a lot of money and take off work to come and relax and enjoy being with our extended family in the cooler weather and it seems that all we hear are complaints about how loud are kids are being. These are good kids who are cousins and enjoy being with each other and this is their vacation too. If we are a little noisy at 11:00 at night, this shoudn't be causing such a stir. The people who live in DMBC should know that the others who rent there are on their hard earned vacations and if all they have to put up with is a little noise, they should feel lucky. Much worse things could be going on. We are sick of all the complaints to the point where we hope we find someplace new by next summer, but if we don't, we will end up back at DMBC and hope the situation will have improved.

Over the years, we have stayed at three or four different Dave Stubbs condos in the Solana Beach area, and absolutely love them all! We can't wait for our next vacation there!

spots, but doubt if they will come out. Vacume cleaner had been broken and thrown back in the closet. Was replaced. Kitchen was adequate. Heater and sink stopper stopped working. Problem was due to rust and salt air, and was fixed. Kudos to Stubbs for responding to the problems
