We highly recommend this vacation rental! It looks exactly as pictured, and is very comfortable and clean inside. Kevin and Jennifer at Stubbs helped us choose the perfect condo to meet our special needs, and then were very friendly and responsive to any and all requests during our stay. One garage parking space fit our pick-up truck, and the second space was shorter. The elevator was just steps away, and we took advantage of the carts to transport luggage, groceries and equipment. The elevator opens right up to Song8's front door. Very easy and accessible.
Then once inside.... Wow! The ocean is right outside your balcony. We spent many hours watching dolphins, surfers, pelicans and sunsets. It doesn't get more healing and relaxing than this. The condo has everything you need (though as other reviewers have mentioned the kitchen items need updating). The furniture and bedding were comfortable. There are many types of blankets and pillows to choose from. We were there through April and May, and never needed AC. The ocean breeze was actually quite cool. During the few days of hot weather, the ceiling fans worked perfectly. The soaking tub is great! But note... the hot water heater is small, so it only fills up about 10-12 inches deep before turning cold. (We solved that problem by heating water on the stove in their 4 big pots.) The location is GREAT. Lots of restaurants and shopping very close by. And the yummy latte's at Nake Cafe down the block became a morning ritual before walking across the street to beautiful Fletcher Cove. There are also quite a few nice public beaches very nearby. This is a hidden gem along the coast that has very minimal traffic! We loved the condo so much we extended our stay as long as it was available. We highly recommend Stubbs and Song8 to anyone looking for a relaxing, carefree stay.

This is our second time staying at Relax and Renew and we absolutely love it! We always come in the summer for the race meet and rent from Dave Stubbs and they are the best in helping us find the right condos for our growing family. This was our first time coming in October/November and we loved it! The condo has everything and the view is breathtaking! The only recommendation I could make would be that the kitchen could use an update, but we don’t cook alot so it didn’t bother us. Thanks to Tyler, Kevin and Jenifer for always setting us up with the best places to stay!

My husband and I enjoyed 10 days and nights at Song 8. The condo was exactly as described. We found it to be very clean, private, quiet, and relaxing. The main bedroom had a sliding door opening out to the sounds and sights of the Pacific. The main bathroom and closet were spacious. We enjoyed the condo surrounding balcony with very comfortable furniture and beautiful ocean views. The entire condo was very roomy. Our teenage grandson joined us and had his own bedroom and bathroom that gave him some privacy along with beach gear which he enjoyed. He also found the ocean views especially those on the balcony enjoyable. The Stubbs team was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and quick to respond. Our tv remote needed new batteries. After contacting the office, a person came and replaced them quickly even leaving extra batteries. While we were there, glass washers came and cleaned all glass on our deck which made our views fantastic! There was easy access to Fletcher Cove and good restaurants within walking distance. A grocery store is also nearby. The parking garage and elevator were easily accessible and a great addition to our stay. As was the security. We felt very safe. The washer/dryer were handy and an added bonus. I would highly recommend Song 8, especially if you are looking for a clean, safe, relaxing vacation stay. The area is close to De Mar, Torrey Pines, and La Jolla which are always fun places to visit. I would highly recommend Song 8 as a relaxing vacation get-a-way. My only suggestion is the kitchen might benefit from some updates. It was, however, well functioning and we cooked several delicious meals.

Enjoyed the amazing views and location of this condo. Very quiet and relaxing. Love the tennis and pickleball courts on the property as well as the quick access to all shops and restaurants nearby.

Kitchen could use an update however it's functional. Twin beds in the guest room was not ideal for our needs since we were all adults however I do understand the reasoning.

Spent a week in October 2022 in this beautiful unit. AMAZING view, very spacious, comfy beds, comfy couch, great outdoor furniture for watching the waves. So easy to walk to Fletcher Cove; really appreciated the sand toys available too. Stubbs customer service was great as well. No complaints. We’d love to come back sometime.

Loved location. Loved the view. Located in a wonderful complex. A better vacuum job would have been nice. Generally cleanliness OK. Small point, there was salt but no pepper requiring a run to the grocery store.

We had a wonderful stay in SONG8. The location of the unit couldn’t be better. The view from the balcony was absolutely amazing - a perfect view spot for the many sunsets. The unit was in great shape and clean when we arrived. The rental manager was very helpful and gave us a list of some wonderful restaurants nearby and he helped us find the best fish taco we have ever tasted, at The Taco Stand in Encinitas. We also enjoyed Jake’s in Del Mar, great food and a great place for sunsets. We enjoyed hiking at Torres Pines and Annie’s Coastal trail, so much to do in the area! I would definitely recommend this unit.

We stayed in this unit for 7 weeks this past Dec/ January. Surfsong is a great complex, this unit is updated with the exception of the kitchen. The furniture, bed, bedding, pillows were all great.The bathrooms are newly redone. I loved the updated electrical with dimmers and sun screens. The fireplaces got daily use, TV is a smart TV. The kitchen needs some updating. I actually didn't mind the vintage vibe of the cabinets but please at least update the stove! Also could use a new set of pots and pans, lids didn't match the pots. Otherwise the kitchen was well stocked for our needs and we cook in a lot. I always like fresh flowers in the home and they even had some vases for use. Stubbs was great to work with, if I had a question or issue they were very prompt. Overall we enjoyed this unit very much and would stay here again.

My family of four really loved this condo. We were able to walk to the beach (in bare feet no less!) each day followed by a swim in the pool and soak in the hot tub to warm up. The outdoor shower in the pool area was super convenient for cleaning up after our time at the beach. We found the kitchen to be well stocked and enjoyed preparing a few meals at the condo. When we dined out we found lots of great options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner within easy walking distance. Our two kids slept great in the second bedroom and my wife and I enjoyed the beautiful master suite with its recently updated bathroom. This is definitely a unit that we will return to in the future!

Surfsong 8's location could not be beat. The bed was comfortable. The furniture inside and outside were great. The unit has been significantly upgraded. That being said for a premium property at a premium price it should have full length bath towels, a Keurig, better plates and glasses. Regardless would definitely stay there again.

The view was jus5 great from our balcony but the condo needed updating. The dishwasher did not work... a service man came to repair it but the dishwasher still did not work properly. The kitchen cupboards needed to be cleaned out and organized. The glasses needed to be replaced.... they all had that film on them. The garbage compactor was gross.....needed cleaning.
The beds were comfortable and sheets and linen fresh and clean. The master bathroom shower needed updating.
The parking garage was very convenient and pool and hot tub very nice.

We enjoyed our first stay in Solana Beach. Our room was very nice and the view and sounds of the ocean can't be beat. Everyone at Stubbs were very helpful--especially when we had trouble figuring out the television. Loved the easy access from the garage to our room and the trash chutes right next to the elevator. The fireplace added the perfect ambience. The only downside we had was remembering that there is a step-down into the living room.

The view from this rental was amazing! We enjoyed sitting outside watching the waves when the neighbors weren't smoking on the deck above us. This was a problem when you wanted to enjoy a sea breeze, but got smoke instead. The condo is older and could us some cleaning in the kitchen. The owners may have brought everything from their home to retire in their rental. The kitchen cupboards were full of extra old pots, pans and stuffed NOT needed! It made using their kitchen for just basic meal preparation inconvenient. The condo has potential, but needs a little TLC before I can recommend it to others.

Best view ever. This property is truly amazing. Quiet, friendly beyond beleif, clean, everything works, parking is a delight, amenities are fabulous, winter is the perfect time to visit as I gather in the summer is a lot more crowded. If you need a winter break with a zen view of the ocean this is it. Highly recommend it.The beach is endless for walks and since I never touched the water cannot review that.The walking trails all around are out of a storybook and the food delivery or supermarkets are extremely good.The local restaurants are not many but most are very good especially the sushi and the breakfast places.Yes I did discover Solana Beach just now but I am very glad I did!

The condo was wonderful! The view and private patio made the entire experience so well worth it. We were there over the 4th of July so it was a busy time, yet, we still felt like we were on our own private island with our private view. It was wonderful to hear the ocean at night. There are alot of places nearby to get food and it was fun to be within walking distance of the beach (a very short walk). It was also wonderful to be near the design district. The condo is dated but still clean and very well stocked. We didn't find the beach chairs/umbrella until our last day so if you stay, know it's in the spare bedroom closet. That would have been nice to know up front in our paperwork. Stubbs was very responsive as we were booking. We didn't need to contact them during our stay because everything was perfect. We LOVED Claire's on Cedros for breakfast each day - if you go, you don't want to miss it. They were great about social distancing and all wait staff wore masks. Darling atmosphere and consistently wonderful food. We will definitely consider coming back to this condo for another vacation and we recommend this to anyone looking for a private, quiet getaway. Kids are definitely welcome - we were there with our teenagers but saw many young families.

The condo itself is wonderful. The property is a mess. While the side we stayed on is no longer under construction the other half of the property is still under major construction. This made the pool unusable and it is nearly impossible to get to the beach without going out to the street and around the block. The construction is suppose to be done soon though, and it looks like they are making major improvments to the landscaping and outside of the units. The big problem we had with it was that no one at the rental agency told us that there is major construction going on. I spoke with them when I made the reservation, twice before we arrived, and upon check in and never once was it mentioned the state of the property.

I would say that once the construction is complete this is a delightful unit within a great property.

My husband, my 9yr old daughter and I loved our stay. The condo had everything we needed (except food of course). It was as if we were borrowing a friends place for a week and didn't lack any of the essentials such as towels, dishes, soap, even laundry detergent. It was honestly one of the most relaxing vacations we've ever taken and look forward to returning soon! All the towns along the coast close to Solana Beach are fun to explore and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from if you don't want to cook dinner in the condo. Having LegoLand so close was nice. No hassles getting there either and a lot of fun for all. Even me and my husband! The beds are comfortable and my daughter got a kick out of having her own room with two beds. One bed for her and the other for her stuffed animals! We didn't go to SeaWorld or the Wild Animal Park but it was nice to know how close everything was if we had changed our minds. I highly recommend this type of vacation to those with kids. Mom and Dad get to have their own bedroom to retreat to at the end of the day and the kids won't mind because they have one too! Enjoy!
