Sunnyside Up is a great property. The location is perfect, and the unit itself is very comfortable and well maintained. This is our second year in a row staying in Solana and our first time at Sunnyside Up with Stubbs. We would definitely rebook this unit through Stubbs.

That said, my only gripe is about the supplies provided. For the price, it's frustrating that the unit isn’t stocked with enough basics—like toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, and shampoo—for the entire week. I understand the policy is to "get you started," but it’s not clear what that actually includes. It would be helpful if that was better defined or if the initial supply was a bit more generous, especially for weekly stays for a family of 4 over a holiday week.

The arrival experience was great. It would have been appreciated if an “ant alert” had been included in the rental package. We left home made banana bread on the counter to find it infested with ants the next morning. Food was not left on the counter in future nights, but we saw scouts each morning. The fireplace adds a very nice touch.

This condo is truly awesome. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could think of, the unit is pristine, the location and view is perfect and Stubb's was very responsive. We had one issue and Stubb's had a repair person arrive within an hour. We'll rent this unit again in the future.

Loved the panoramic view and the sound of the ocean. So peaceful and private. The kitchen was well furnished and living areas comfortable. Stubbs management helped with necessary requests. Bar-b-q a plus.

Wonderful private corner location and view. Enjoyed watching the surfers, dolphins, volleyball players and watercraft. Nicely remodeled - especially the bathrooms and kitchen. Furniture is comfortable but couch is very low and difficult to get up off of if you have joint problems. Appreciated having a TV in the bedroom. Ice machine not working - needs ice trays. Surf is extremely loud. Unit does not have A/C and was even a bit warm in April. Parking is in a garage and was relatively close to unit but might be difficult for mobility challenged people. 10am check out - especially since you had to bring the key back to the property management office by 10am was not ideal - especially at the price point of the unit.

Stayed here for 6 nights. Booked directly so saved money as did not have to pay Vrbo charges. Clear communication. We reached around 8 pm and keys were in the lock box with code texted to us. The condo is well maintained. Plenty of space for 4 of us. Kitchen is exceptional. No A/c but most ocean front properties do not have one as they rely on the sea breeze. Plenty of fans and heaters provided. Bathroom bidet was fun. Had 2 parking spaces. Kitchen utensils, plates, cups were more than adequate. Whole Foods and Vons supermarket is 6 min and we got some groceries and cokes most of the days. There are some nice restaurants near by. CVS is walking distance for water and other stuff. We walked to cove park which is 8 min from the property. View of pacific and surfers was exceptional and my favorite sipping coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. We went to the zoo, sea world on New Year’s Eve and safari park all about 20 min drive from property..Overall one of the best vacation property ever and will definitely return.

Excellent oceanside view was absolutley breathtaking. The pictures don't do it justice. Kitchen was well stock. Overall the place was clean and tastefully decorated.
The fan helped as the nights got a little hot. Suggest putting in a portable AC unit.
The Second Bedroom has more ants than we would have liked. We should have notified the office of this sooner. But overall this is a 6 star property!!

This vacation rental had an excellent location and matched the property description very well. The property was clean, well-maintained, and had convenient parking.

Unfortunately, during our stay the power went out to our unit. The main breaker for the unit was tripped and needed to be reset. This should not have been a big deal to flip the breaker and get on with the rest of our vacation. The breaker, however, was in a locked room attached to the building. The manager (Stubbs) did not immediately respond, but the owner of the unit showed up to try to help gain access. Stubbs (and maybe the HOA?) continued to try to say we could just flip the breaker and refused to believe the door was locked. The owner was not able to get access to the breaker and we were left the rest of the day and night without any power in the unit. There were no flashlights in the unit and it was a very hot night with no fans. One family member was without their sleeping machine and did not sleep. The power was restored the next day after being out for more than 15 hours. Overall, this was a terrible experience for something so simple as a breaker. Stubbs did apologize profusely and offer a small refund (less than 40% of one night rental fee) in response to the situation.

Other small things that could make the property better:
-Property lacked on some cooking utensils (no pizza cutter, ice cream scooper)
-Property has fairly transparent blinds with sidewalk lights outside the unit, so the window's will not be dark at night

Positives:
-Great Parking
-Welcome packet and unit binder were thorough with instructions and rules
-The available surfboards and boogieboards made our week!
-Unbeatable view
-Responsiveness of owner
-Excellent location
-Great neighbors (most of which are permanent residents - not renters)

Thank you for your review, Zachary. We are so sorry the for the after-hours electrical issue. The owner was available to access the fuse box within the unit, but then found that the issue was with at the building level. Only the HOA has access that exterior box and they were not available until the next morning. We do apologize for the disruption. Your suggestions have been noted and flashlights, a pizza cutter and an ice cream scooper have been added to the unit.

In my opinion this is a very comfortable unit. Loved the ocean views! If that is your priority this is the place for you! The kitchen was updated and well equipped. The bathrooms have been updated, nice shower, Toto/bidet toilet. Would have appreciated a chair in the master bedroom, a dresser with drawers that open and close without difficulty, and bed linens that fit the bed. The pillows were king size with standard size pillow cases, the “fitted” bed sheet was much too large for the low profile mattress. I was also not happy with the bath towels, Motel 6 quality. That said, this unit was not a disappointment.

This property is in a great location and the property itself is amazing. We were just unlucky with our timing in that the unit below us was under renovation and they spent the entire week we were there putting in a new patio right below our porch. So the porch we paid extra for was pretty much unusable during the day while the workers were working below us. They were nice enough but not something you want when you're on a vacation. We talked to Stubb's about it and were basically told they couldn't do anything for us unless the workers were making too much noise or working outside of the HOA approved hours. It would have been nice to have any sort of support from Stubbs like a discount on the rate, or a care package of some sort, rather than saying they couldn't do much of anything for us. Other than that like I said the property itself was great and had everything we needed and would recommend it to someone else - just hope there isn't a renovation happening nearby during your stay. The remainder of the experience with Stubbs was great and straightforward but just didn't appreciate the lack of support after we paid extra to have a beachfront condo to use the porch.

The first year we used Stubbs the unit was FILTHY. i. e. dried food and grease on ALL silverware and pots. They called the same people back in to clean that did a terrible job the first time. Nothing was improved. The second year the unit was great but we smelled mold so wanted to move to another unit. They refused, in the rudest way, as the did last year. For these prices boththe units and the customer service should be at least good, if not excellent. Not so. Stubbs struck out twice so if we book with them again we are the fools.

We are sorry you were disappointed with this unit. The first part of this review has nothing to do with this unit, so we will disregard that. This unit is meticulously maintained by the owner who recently renovated the entire condo. There is no evidence of any mold anywhere in the property. This gorgeous property has 17 reviews aside from this one of which 16 are 5-star. Stubbs strives to provide excellent customer service to all our guests.

The apartment was just as pictured. The view from the deck was amazing. My partner and I spent hours just sitting on the deck. The place was so clean. The bed was so comfortable. The blankets and linens were very high quality. This place is worth the stay. Perfect perfect perfect. I already tried to talk my brother into bringing his wife here for her birthday. I would give it more than 5 stars!!

mom and it was the perfect place for us. Pictures
are exactly what the place looked it. Property
management- Stubbs was wonderful to work with
and would recommend them to anyone. Loved
having a covered parking spot, full kitchen, very
clean place, and very peaceful/quiet area. The
views are unbelievable- best location north of San
Diego. Great access to the beach- 128 steps to
ocean or you can walk less than 1/2 mile to a ramp
to the beach- no steps. Only con I have is the
second room blinds are see through and as I
female felt uncomfortable changing at night. But
the entire complex seemed super safe with a lot of
local residents. I can't wait to come back to this
place!!!

Great location, view, and amenities - including linens and comfortable beds. The place is obviously updated and cared for and it shows. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches of having binoculars and surfboards available as well as a well-functioning outdoor grill. Despite lots of fog, we plan to return.

This condo is phenomenal. The view from the balcony, kitchen, living room, and master bedroom is stunning. The condo complex is beautiful; the landscaping is so pretty with lots of flowers and streams and waterfalls. The pool is huge and sparkling clean and there are two hot tubs which are also very nice. The kitchen has been updated and is gorgeous with plenty of space and appliances. There are boogie boards and beach chairs and surf boards to use, all in great condition. The linens are so clean and felt so nice. Solana Beach is one of our favorite places and this condo made it even better.

We haven't traveled in over a year but needed to for medical reasons & found this condo. The view alone & waking up to the sounds of the ocean were so healing for me. In addition, it is very clean & well equipped. A trip to nearby Whole Foods & great meals were easily prepared. The bed was very comfortable as well. We will definitely stay here again.

Views are amazing! The unit was perfect for my family of 3. Beds were comfortable. Showers and sinks were all good. The cleaning crew could spend a little more time cleaning. The kitchen still had sticky food residue on a few of the cabinet handles, but aside from that, the kitchen had all the amenities you could need. Dishwasher was a little finicky, but, was able to get it to work on one cycle. Having a fireplace was great and easy to use for cool nights. Patio deck was sufficient to enjoy the amazing ocean views. 2nd level was nice because you weren't directly on the walkway. Easy access to parking garage and no stairs to contend with to get to the unit. Overall, this was a great stay. I would absolutely stay here again!

Our experience finding a rental from Dave Stubbs was very easy. The web site was easy to navigate to find available properties. The pictures and description of ammenities were very helpful in making a final decision. The staff was friendly and responded quickly to our inquiries. The view from our rental was fabulous! Renting a beach condo was a great idea. It was so much nicer than staying in a hotel and the views offered at this rental were the best! The place was spotless. My only complaint was the outdoor renovations being made to the condo which I was not informed of before renting it. However, since those are likely done, I would absolutely recommend this beach rental.

We have stayed in SBTC 213 2 times and we LOVE it. The unit is newly remodeled and decorated with a palm tree theme. It's right on the bluff and you can watch the surfers and the whales and listen to the surf. The beach below is down quite a few steps but a wonderful place to take a long walk at low tide. We would recommend this unit to anyone who wants to get away for a nice quiet week at the beach.

Bedding - pillows, sheets, and blankets were all pretty limp and worn. If I had not been traveling my plane, I would have purchased new pillows and sheets. Overall, it was nice.
