Surf, Sun, Sand - SUR106

The location is beautiful we had coffee every morning overlooking the ocean. We also caught Dolphins playing. Stubbs was terrific to work with which was only at check in and check out because everything was perfect. The only complaint and it’s very small was the low overhead parking in the garage for this particular unit 106. But even that was minimal as far as an inconvenience the security of the complex makes up for that. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. I’m cheap so always feel I overpay but was well worth the money I spent.

Enjoyed my stay, beautiful well equipped condo, natural breeze and ocean view from living, dining area and a full sky view from the patio. Could use a little dusting before new arrivals but a minor isdue. Would love to stay again.

Beautiful spacious condo overlooking the ocean in all bedrooms. Dining room and living room. Kitchen was fully equipped with cookware and updated appliances. Grounds very clean and amenities of dual hottubs and pools; serene garden with poi pond. No AC but not needed with the ceiling fans and cool ocean breeze flows in nicely. A few things to improve: dusting needed, hot water in master shower did not get warm, toilet in master bathroom was loose. Would these minor touch ups would definitely stay again.

We've vacationed at SUR condos on and off for 20 years, the office staff is always wonderful!!! and the condo is awesome!!! The only thing we really do not like is SUR106 parking spot!!!!! The gate closed on both cars and its really hard to get in and out of, its a very tight fit, especially when the gate is not cooperative. Next time we'll see if we can get a different parking spot:)

This was our 20th year coming to Solano Beach. Needless to say, we loved this area. We have been renting from Dave Stubbs every year. It is very family friendly and the beach is not overly crowded.

I loved everything about this place! Location, windows, etc... New couch was big and comfy, beds were good, kitchen had all we needed and the view was AMAZING.
Beach access was nice (a lot of stairs) , perfect sunsets ...
Honestly my only comment is the parking.. it is pretty low ceiling and tight in a corner so harder to turn into and we could not open our doors on one side when fitting between the lines. Smaller vehicles could be okay. Stubbs took care of us and we were really appreciative! Would come back in a heartbeat !

Had a wonderful week enjoying the beautiful sunsets and the sound of the ocean. Very relaxing.

A couple of things for Stubbs to look at in this rental: (1) Ice maker is not working correctly; (2) There were no hand towels in any of the bathrooms; (3) There was only a half roll of toilet paper left in each bathroom and no replacements; (4) The heater is not working in the den off the living room. These are small items but thought you should know about them.

Had a fantastic time. Condo is near to the stairs down to the beach, has a huge patio area to take in the view and relax. Easy check in and check out and in a friendly community.

The inside of the house was stunning the mirrors on the wall made the the room seem really big. In the closets was great equipment to play tennis or many games the house has a really good sight on the ocean and it was overall pretty amazing.

The rental itself is nice enough. It is a great location with nice amenities on the grounds. The condo itself is very dated which we knew coming in. Our biggest issue is that the shower door fell off, shattered and cut my brother. While Stubbs was very nice and understanding, no one followed up to see how the injuries were. Also, whoever came to clean, left some glass behind which could have resulted in more injuries. For this price, there should have been some compensation for only having one functional shower and it should have been cleaned more thoroughly.

Oh goodness, you can't ask for a better location for a trip to the West Coast. We loved hearing the waves, it was an easy on to I-5 to explore the rest of the city and the property itself was just lovely. Great space for a family of 4 for a week and the presence of a den made it feel like everyone had their own space.

We booked unit 106 at very short notice and were very pleased with the apartment. We wanted something smaller than a two bedroom but were very satisfied with this unit. The ocean view was spectacular. We are annual visitors to Solana Beach and will not hesitate to see what is available at this location next year.

Perfect location for a family beach vacation! We loved staying here!! The unit is amazing with views of the ocean from every window and door. There are plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance and stairs down to the beach are only steps away from the front door. While not luxurious or recently updated, there was plenty of space and all the amenities that we needed. Most importantly, the place was extremely clean upon our arrival. The property manager was fantastic to work with. They were accommodating with our travel schedule and super responsive to all of our needs. Our only constructive feedback was that we found all of the beds uncomfortable, particularly the bed in the master. It's subjective of course, but in my opinion the mattresses need to be significantly upgraded for comfort. A good night's rest impacts the whole experience. If you're looking for something high end, this isn't the unit for you. However if you're looking for spacious and clean accommodations with a fantastic location, I highly recommend this property!

There was some type of smell we tried to get rid of during the stay. Almost mold like. The microwave broken and needed to be replaced.

You can’t beat the location of this place- nothing short of amazing. The condo is definitely in need of some updating and a deep cleaning but is otherwise a really great place to stay. The management company is very organized, communicated well and did a great job at being efficient with check in & out. My biggest criticism is cleanliness - it’s so important, especially at this time. The bathrooms were not cleaned well (empty bottles in the shower etc) and the kitchen, including the dishes, was pretty dirty.

perfect location, great condo location, sofa sleeper unsleepable, but couch was nice and comfortable, didn't provide some typical supplies, like enough dishwasher soap, paper towels or napkins, alot of the dishes were not clean,kitchen sink was stuck on 1 side, alot of the sliding doors didn't work properly. Leak was inconvenient, but office provided a scent care package. there were only 2 beach towels. everything else was superb, we will stay there again. Stubbs office staff was very nice!

SUR106 has a nice setting. However carpeting is stained and needs either steam cleaning or to be replaced. Living area furniture is uncomfortable, beds instead of couches and chairs. Overall ambiance is drab, master BR bedspread should be replaced. Showers barely operate and valves need to be replaced. Kitchen was adequate, good appliances but dishes needed washing before use. Lighting was insufficient, too weak over dining room table, bedroom lamps in poor condition. Would recommend to friend only with caveats.

The complex is great, and we took advantage of the pool and the proximity to the beach, Legoland and Sea World. The layout of the unit was great, however it was too run down for me to want to stay in it again.

The unit was very spacious and the beach views were outstanding. The unit's patio area was very large, although the grill had no gas. The complex was beautifully landscaped and excellently maintained. The unit was overall clean, but very dusty. The furniture, linens, and carpet showed some excessive wear (especially the sofas and comforters). Many of the ceiling fans did not work, or work properly (my husband was able to fix most). The sink was stopped up on our arrival requiring my husband to also correct this problem. The unit did contain beach chairs and towels, which was very handy. It was an excellent overall bargain.

Overall, the unit was fine. Large, spacious, gorgeous view. The problem (and a rather annoying one) was that the only windows were the sliding glass doors. We could not leave them open at night because there was no security in that the screens did not lock due to poor maintenance and we were on the first floor. So there was no fresh air (and there is no A/C). Also, the beach chairs, etc., that were supplied should be trashed and replaced with new ones. For the price, $3000, the unit should have been better maintained. In addition, one of the nearby units was occupied by a group of youths (no parents) who partied late on a couple of nights. It wasn't clear who we could have called in that case.
